KCR extends Dussehra greetings, recalls Telangana’s spirit of victory

Hyderabad: BRS president and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday wished the people of Telangana a happy Dussehra, describing the festival as a symbol of victory and righteousness.

In his message, KCR urged people to draw inspiration from Vijaya Dashami and move from defeat to success. He said Dussehra, celebrated alongside Bathukamma and Durgamma Puja during the nine-day Devi Sharannavaratri, holds deep cultural importance in Telangana.

He said the festival acts as a guiding force that motivates individuals and workers to overcome challenges and strive for just victories.

KCR recalled key symbolic decisions taken during his tenure. He pointed out that the BRS government had declared the Jammi tree as the state tree and the Palapitta (Indian roller) as the state bird both strongly tied to Dussehra traditions.

He said the spirit of Vijaya Dashami and Bathukamma energized the Telangana statehood movement. That same spirit, he added, guided the state’s development during his ten years in office.

KCR concluded by praying to Goddess Durga to bless every family with happiness, peace, and strength.
