Kavitha slams Congress, BRS for failing public, vows to fight for people’s rights

Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha on Sunday accused both the ruling Congress and opposition BRS of failing to serve the public. She said neither party was fulfilling its responsibilities, which forced Telangana Jagruthi to step forward and raise ignored issues.

While addressing the media in Warangal, Kavitha said no party was defending the people’s interests. As a result, she said her platform would focus on transparency and advocacy. “There will be a time for electoral politics. For now, our job is to speak up for public welfare,” she stated.

Kavitha slams Congress, BRS over hospital contract, lack of inclusion

Kavitha alleged that the government inflated costs for the Warangal super specialty hospital project. She claimed the project cost had jumped from ₹1,100 crore to ₹1,700 crore. Furthermore, she alleged that the contract went to a benami firm linked to BRS MLA Harish Rao. “Even after a vigilance inquiry and report, the government hasn’t taken action,” she said.

She also criticised the lack of political space for new voices. “I want a Telangana where everyone feels secure about healthcare, education, and opportunity,” she said. Kavitha demanded the reinstatement of student union elections to create new leadership.

Explaining her exit from the BRS, Kavitha said party protocol restricted her to Nizamabad. “There were no teacher transfers. So where could I even be corrupt?” she asked, mocking the allegations.

She said the party removed her without reason. “After 20 years of service, they dismissed me without even a show cause notice,” she said. Although she still respects KCR as a father figure, she clarified that she no longer holds any political ties to the BRS.

Kavitha concluded that Telangana’s economic growth is not benefiting all. She called for equal financial opportunities for everyone. “We must not rely only on reservation. A just Telangana should give every citizen a fair chance,” she said.
