Hyderabad: Launching a sharp attack on the ruling Congress, BRS MLC K. Kavitha accused the Telangana government of betraying voters by failing to honour its pre-election promises. Speaking to reporters after offering prayers at the Indalwai Ramalayam in Nizamabad district on Monday, she said the Congress regime has proven ineffective in translating commitments into action.
Kavitha performed special rituals at the temple and interacted with local devotees before addressing the media. “People were misled with false assurances. The Congress government has not fulfilled even the basic promises it made during the campaign,” she charged.
Highlighting the party’s key poll pledges, she demanded immediate implementation of the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme in full, including the promised ‘tula bangaram’ provision. “We will continue our fight until women are given their rightful Rs 2,500 monthly assistance,” she declared.

The BRS leader also criticised the government’s silence over the recurring deaths of the sacred Rajanna bulls in Vemulawada. “Every day, a bull dies under this government’s watch, yet no one seems concerned. If the Chief Minister truly respects temples, he must act swiftly and decisively,” she said, demanding urgent measures to protect temple livestock.
Assuring locals of continued support for temple development, Kavitha said she would work to bring more funds for Indalwai temple. She reminded the gathering that under BRS rule, even small village temples were developed and Rs 2,000 crore had been spent on temple infrastructure across the state during KCR’s tenure.
Her remarks come at a time when the Congress is under growing pressure to deliver on its welfare guarantees, with opposition leaders ramping up scrutiny and public outreach.
