Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha raised concerns over the lack of basic Falaknuma temple amenities, saying devotees faced hardships at the Khali Matha temple in Hyderabad’s Old City. The temple attracts thousands of worshippers every day.
Kavitha visited the temple on Saturday and performed special prayers. Later, speaking to the media, she said the shrine held immense religious significance for Hyderabad residents. However, devotees continued to face difficulties because essential facilities were missing.
She pointed out that the temple lacked proper road access and basic amenities, including washrooms for women. These shortcomings, she said, added to the difficulties faced by worshippers visiting the shrine.
The temple’s location has also complicated efforts to improve access. Since railway land surrounds the premises and a burial ground lies nearby, establishing road connectivity has become a challenge.
Falaknuma temple amenities depend on coordination with authorities
Kavitha assured devotees that she would coordinate with the Endowments department and railway authorities to improve access to the temple. She said she would work towards providing road connectivity and ensuring essential facilities for worshippers.
She also urged the local MLA to take the initiative to resolve the problems. Her assurance followed concerns about the daily hardships faced by devotees at the religious site.
The proposed efforts would focus on addressing road access and the lack of basic facilities, particularly washrooms for women. Coordination between the relevant departments and railway authorities would be necessary to address the access challenge.
