Hyderabad: BRS MLC K Kavitha hit back at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s defence of the Telangana caste survey, questioning the credibility and transparency of the data collected.
Responding to Revanth’s assertion that the state holds 88 crore pages of verified survey records, Kavitha accused him of peddling “blatant lies” and described the Congress-led exercise as “a calculated conspiracy.”
In a post on X, she dismissed Revanth’s claim made during a PowerPoint briefing to Congress MPs in Delhi as political posturing. She said the survey cannot be considered an “X-ray or CT scan” of society as claimed and accused the government of mocking democratic norms.
Citing discrepancies in the reported numbers, Kavitha questioned how the OBC population (excluding Muslims), which stood at 52% in 2014, had allegedly dropped to 46% in 2024. She said this was just one of many statistical inconsistencies in the survey results.
Challenging both CM Revanth and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, she demanded that the government release caste-wise data for each village through gram panchayat offices. “If the data is truly rare and authentic, prove it on the ground,” she said.
