Hyderabad: MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha launched a sharp attack on her own party on Sunday, alleging that senior figures within the Bharat Rashtra Samithi had conspired against her and allowed personal attacks to go unchecked. Her remarks have opened a visible rift within the party.
At a press meet held on August 3, Kavitha said, “If someone targets a woman in the house, shouldn’t the brothers respond? The BRS leadership didn’t.” Her statement directly questioned the party’s silence and internal unity.
Kavitha blames BRS leadership for internal sabotage, leaks
Kavitha singled out a BRS leader from Nalgonda, accusing him of damaging the party’s chances in the last election. “That Lilliputian ruined our prospects, and now he wants to undermine me. Without KCR, who is he?” she said.
She also alleged that a private letter written to K. Chandrashekar Rao was deliberately leaked. “That leader is enjoying the mess he created,” she added.
Reacting to BJP MP CM Ramesh’s comments, she said, “I know him, but we haven’t spoken in six months. I don’t understand his sudden interest.”
Responding to allegations of political protection behind her planned BC reservations protest, Kavitha said, “If I protest from my home, I don’t need court or government clearance. Claims of match-fixing are false.”

Kavitha mocks BJP’s BC protest
She ridiculed the BJP’s recent protests over the pending BC bill. “Their own Governor has the file. Why hasn’t he signed it? They have two ministers in Delhi—why not push for the bill there?” she asked.
Kavitha also questioned CM Revanth Reddy’s failure to approach the Supreme Court regarding the stalled reservation bill.
She said her protest would expose both Congress and BJP positions on the issue. “Those spying on me think I don’t know. But I’m fully aware. Isolating me won’t work,” she warned.
