Kachiguda Police arrest fraudster K. Sudheer wanted across tri-commissionerates

Hyderabad: Kachiguda Police on Monday arrested K. Sudheer, a habitual offender wanted in 10 cases across Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda commissionerates, for cheating and impersonation.

Acting on technical surveillance, the East Zone crime team apprehended Sudheer under Crime No. 432/2025, booking him under Sections 319, 318(4), 204, 205 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 66(C) and 66(D) of the IT Act. The accused was found with one Redmi mobile phone and two SIM cards.

Accused impersonated RTC officials to extort money

Sudheer, 43, an MBA graduate from Madurai Kamaraj University, posed as an RTC Vigilance Officer to extort money from bus conductors. He allegedly used profile photos of senior RTC officials including Sri Nagi Reddy and Sri V.C. Sajjanar on WhatsApp and mimicked official language to threaten and intimidate RTC staff.

His method involved recording videos of conductors sleeping on duty during long-distance services, then blackmailing them using his fake identity. Sudheer exploited internal RTC protocols he learned while interacting with drivers near bus stations.

Sudheer has confessed to involvement in ten cases, including nine cheating cases and one two-wheeler theft. The cases are registered at police stations including Kachiguda, Pochampally, Chikadpally, Medipally, Cherlapally, Falaknuma, Hayathnagar, Kulsumpura, Jawahar Nagar, and Shamshabad.

In addition, he has a criminal past involving frauds of over ₹3 crore during his stint as Sales Manager at Star Health Insurance. Previous cases include:
