Jagga Reddy fumes at Raghunandan Rao over Rahul Gandhi remarks

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress leader and TPCC working president Jagga Reddy on Friday launched a scathing attack on BJP MP Raghunandan Rao for his derogatory remarks about senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Speaking to the press at Gandhi Bhavan, Jagga Reddy accused Raghunandan Rao of speaking out of turn and warned that any further personal attacks on Rahul Gandhi would not be tolerated. “If Union Minister Kishan Reddy had the sense to discipline his party colleagues, Raghunandan wouldn’t be making such irresponsible comments,” he said.

Jagga Reddy questioned Rao’s understanding of Congress history, reminding him that it was the Congress party which had unified 544 princely states into the Indian Union. “What does Raghunandan even know about the legacy of the Congress?” he asked.

He further warned that if Rao dares to speak against Rahul Gandhi again, the Congress would “show its strength.” Taking a sharp dig, he said that if BJP leaders continue to behave in a “petty and provocative” manner, they shouldn’t expect Congress to remain silent.

On internal party matters, Jagga Reddy expressed his preference for giving PAC committee responsibilities to Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, but said he would accept any role given to him without complaint. “Even if I’m handed a minor role in Gandhi Bhavan, I will perform it dutifully,” he remarked, adding that including senior leaders in the party’s advisory committee was a welcome move.
