Jagadgirigutta police bust bike theft gang, recover 22 stolen motorcycles

Hyderabad: Jagadgirigutta police arrested five members of an inter-district automobile theft gang and recovered 22 stolen motorcycles worth ₹42 lakh. The haul included KTM Duke, Royal Enfield, Pulsar, Yamaha R15, and Honda Unicorn models.

The accused were identified as Gollapally Sridhar (26), Midde Veera Kousik Goud (21), Katta Manikanta (20), Guthula Srinivas (28), and Shaik Nagur Vali (25). Police caught Sridhar during a vehicle check while he was riding a KTM Duke without a number plate. During interrogation, he admitted to stealing motorcycles with his associates in the limits of KPHB, Borabanda, Allapur, and Jagadgirigutta police stations. Moreover, the gang sold several bikes to Nagur Vali, who acted as the receiver.

On August 24, offenders stole a KTM 250 Duke from outside a wine shop in Jagadgirigutta. The complainant reported the theft, and police registered a case (Cr. No. 878/2025). Soon after, the crime team launched intensive checks. Consequently, they nabbed Sridhar, who revealed details of the wider gang operation.

Based on his confession, police arrested his three associates and seized 22 motorcycles. The recoveries included eight bikes linked to KPHB PS, one to Allapur PS, one to Borabanda PS, two to Jagadgirigutta PS, and 10 booked under Section 106 BNSS.

Police commendation for swift action

DCP K. Suresh Kumar supervised the operation, while ACP P. Naresh Reddy, SHO K. Narshima, and DI P. Narendra Reddy directed the investigation. Officials praised the Jagadgirigutta crime staff for swiftly tracking down the gang and recovering the stolen property.
