Hyderabad: Families of Indian-origin US citizens reported travellers missing in Nepal after losing contact with them amid floods and landslides near the Nepal-Tibet border. Most of the travellers had roots in Telangana and Karnataka, according to the families.
The group was travelling towards Mount Kailash-Mansarovar when communication with them was lost. Their last reported contact came at around 8.30 am on August 26 near the Rasuwagadhi immigration office.
The immigration point was located close to the Nepal-China border. Family members said repeated attempts to contact the travellers after that point had failed. They subsequently appealed to Indian and Nepalese authorities for urgent assistance in tracing the group.

The families identified those in the group as Laxminath Gopisetty, Sudhindra Yapalparvi and Sudhir Rangu. They also named Keshav Rao Tadipatri, Vivek Shankar Srivastav and Venkataraman Balasubramanyam.
