Hyderabad: HYDRAA teams launched an extensive HYDRAA rain response after heavy rain lashed Hyderabad on Tuesday evening. Disaster Response Force (DRF) and MRT teams cleared waterlogged roads, removed fallen trees and assisted residents across several parts of the city.
The downpour, which lasted from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm, left several roads inundated. Tree branches also snapped at multiple locations, disrupting traffic and movement.
Despite the heavy rain, HYDRAA personnel remained on the ground throughout the operation. They removed stagnant floodwater and restored normal movement in affected areas.
HYDRAA rain response restores normal traffic
In Krishna Nagar, DRF and MRT teams worked to ensure smooth flow of rainwater through internal roads. They also helped several residents cross flooded stretches safely. At Kakatiya Nagar in Neredmet, rescue teams saved a cow that had fallen into a drain. They used ropes to pull the animal out without injury.
HYDRAA personnel also coordinated with the traffic police to regulate vehicle movement in several rain-hit areas. Consequently, traffic disruptions were reduced as the rain subsided. In Red Hills, teams quickly removed fallen trees and branches from the roads. Their prompt action helped restore traffic and prevent further inconvenience.
Officials said the emergency response continued until late in the night. By around 10.30 pm, teams had ensured that no major roads remained waterlogged.
The HYDRAA rain response focused on flood mitigation, rescue operations and traffic management. The coordinated effort helped minimise disruption caused by the heavy rainfall across Hyderabad.
