HYDRAA protects ₹700 crore Jangamoni Kunta land in Kondapur

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) launched a major enforcement drive at Jangamoni Kunta in Kondapur and protected government land valued at nearly ₹700 crore by acting against illegal encroachments.

Officials said encroachers illegally occupied about four acres of lake land along the Serilingampally municipal office–Madinaguda road. The land falls under Survey No. 134.

During inspections, officials found that encroachers dumped soil into the lake and levelled the area. They also found that the accused divided the reclaimed land into plots and prepared them for sale.

Revenue authorities had earlier booked cases against the encroachers. Later, HYDRAA teams joined revenue officials and conducted a joint inspection to assess damage and demarcate boundaries.

Jangamoni Kunta secured, fencing work begins

To prevent fresh encroachments, HYDRAA started fencing work around the lake with police support. Officials said the fencing will secure the water body and block future illegal occupation.

HYDRAA officials said they will continue similar drives across the city to protect lakes and government land. Local residents welcomed the action and praised efforts to safeguard urban water resources.
