HYDERABAD: The growth of Hydraa operations in Telangana has not slowed down; in fact, it has increased fourfold this year. In response, the government is taking significant steps, including setting up a dedicated Hydra Police Station and introducing a special court for Hydra-related cases.
HMDA is working to clearly define lake boundaries, Full Tank Levels (FTL), and buffer zones to prevent encroachments. Additionally, plans are in place to ensure that FTL and buffer zones are publicly accessible for better awareness and enforcement. The administration has also announced the development of six lakes in Hyderabad using HMDA funds.
To address pollution and improve drainage systems, authorities are considering adopting German technology for nala purification. Meanwhile, the government has intensified its crackdown on illegal land encroachments, sand smuggling, and unauthorized hoardings.
Ranganath, a senior official, emphasized that these measures are crucial for maintaining Hyderabad’s environmental and urban integrity. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strict enforcement and sustainable development.
