DRF staff honoured for suicide rescue
HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath commended Disaster Response Force (DRF) personnel for rescuing a youth who attempted suicide at Durgam Cheruvu on July 25. Staffers Tirupati Yadav, Santosh Chari, and Mohammad Imran were honoured with shawls at the commissioner’s office.
The youth, identified as Ramireddy, had climbed onto the edge of the cable bridge and attempted to jump. The DRF team, stationed nearby for drainage maintenance, noticed the situation and intervened.
Yadav distracted the youth with conversation while the others flanked him and pulled him to safety. The commissioner lauded the coordination and presence of mind that prevented a tragedy.
