Hyderabad: Telangana Minister in charge of Hyderabad, Ponnam Prabhakar, on Tuesday reviewed arrangements for Ganesh festival 2025 at MCRHRD. Senior officials from across departments attended the meeting, including Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, DGP Jitender, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad, the Police Commissioners of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda, as well as Collectors of Hyderabad, Medchal and Ranga Reddy districts.
The minister directed authorities to ensure that the Ganesh festival is celebrated on a grand scale in the state capital. He said Hyderabad will host the festival with public participation and stressed that officials must prevent any inconvenience during the festivities.
Hyderabad gears up for Ganesh festival 2025 preparations
Prabhakar reminded that last year the government had provided free electricity to festival mandaps, and assured that all necessary arrangements would be made this year as well. He described Ganesh celebrations as the largest annual festival in Hyderabad and called for coordinated efforts by all departments, including Roads and Buildings, GHMC, Revenue, Police, Health and Power.
Officials were instructed to hold departmental-level reviews in advance and ensure proper security, traffic management and safety measures at mandaps. Specific directions were issued to prevent electrical hazards, traffic congestion and disruption to idol processions.
