Hyderabad Police Commissioner lauds officers and public for incident-free New Year

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar lauded police personnel and city residents for ensuring an incident-free New Year in Hyderabad through strict enforcement and responsible public behaviour.

In two posts on social media platform X, Sajjanar thanked citizens of Hyderabad for standing with the police during New Year celebrations. He said firm enforcement and sustained awareness drives prevented major incidents.

According to the Commissioner, large-scale drunk driving checks played a key role in maintaining safety. As a result, police reported zero serious incidents across the city on New Year night.

Sajjanar said the outcome did not happen by chance. Instead, awareness worked, responsibility prevailed and public cooperation made the difference.

Hyderabad Police enforcement earns Commissioner’s praise

Reiterating the road safety message, Sajjanar said celebrations could happen without risk. At the same time, he warned that alcohol and steering should never go together.

In a separate post, the Commissioner congratulated officers for the smooth conduct of New Year’s Eve bandobast. He praised strict enforcement of drunk driving laws across all zones.

Additionally, Sajjanar appreciated the efforts of personnel from Home Guards to Additional Commissioners of Police. He said teamwork ensured effective policing throughout the city.

He also said he personally monitored bandobast arrangements across zones and found the execution commendable.

Finally, Sajjanar congratulated the entire Hyderabad Police force and extended New Year 2026 greetings to officers and their family members.
