Hyderabad Metro facilitates priority transit for heart, lung transport

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail facilitated a Priority medical transit to ensure the time-sensitive transportation of a donor heart and lungs from CARE Hospitals, Gachibowli, to KIMS Hospitals, Minister Road, Secunderabad.

The donor organs were transported through the Metro network between Raidurg Metro Station and Rasoolpura Metro Station. Moreover, the journey covered 14 kilometres across 13 stations in 25 minutes, from 11:40 am to 12:05 pm.

The operation supported the timely movement of the donor heart and lungs during a critical phase of the transplantation process. Meanwhile, Hyderabad Metro coordinated closely with healthcare professionals and hospital authorities to complete the transit without delay.

Priority medical transit completed in 25 minutes

The coordinated effort highlighted Hyderabad Metro’s role in supporting time-critical medical interventions beyond its regular transportation services. In addition, the operation demonstrated seamless coordination between Metro officials and medical teams.

L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited said it remains committed to supporting emergency healthcare initiatives. Furthermore, the organisation said it would continue extending urban mobility services to facilitate life-saving medical interventions whenever required.
