Hyderabad man dies, seven hospitalised after consuming reheated meat

Hyderabad: One man died and seven members of his family were hospitalised in Vanasthalipuram after consuming reheated meat stored in a refrigerator.

The incident took place in RTC Colony, Chintalkunta. Srinivas Yadav (46), a city RTC conductor, brought home mutton and chicken on Sunday as part of Bonalu festival celebrations. The food was cooked and consumed by the family that night. The leftovers were refrigerated and reheated for consumption on Monday.

Soon after eating the food, all eight members of the household began experiencing vomiting and diarrhoea. They were rushed to a nearby private hospital. Srinivas Yadav’s condition deteriorated, and he died on Tuesday morning during treatment. The remaining seven are under medical supervision.

Police registered a case following a complaint from the family. Food samples were collected and sent to a laboratory for analysis.
