Hyderabad: Telangana Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Friday announced plans to develop Hyderabad into a global golf tourism destination. He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the Telangana Golconda Masters Golf Tournament – 2025.
The minister emphasised that Telangana has strong potential to attract international golfers. He said the government would enhance golf infrastructure, promote global-standard tournaments, and open the sector for domestic and foreign investments.
Hyderabad golf tourism hub vision takes shape
This year’s tournament saw participation from professionals, amateurs, and international players representing India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Czech Republic. Jamal Hussain from Bangladesh and Akshaya Sharma from India emerged as prize winners.
Key figures present at the event included Hyderabad Golf Club President BVK Raju, Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) CEO Anudeep Jain, and Director Vikas Singh.
Minister Jupally stated that with improved facilities and regular international events, Hyderabad could soon position itself as a major golf destination in Asia.
