Harish Rao targets CM Revanth Reddy with strong criticism

Hyderabad: Former minister Harish Rao launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday. He said the Chief Minister has not changed his behaviour even after assuming office. According to him, Revanth Reddy achieved little in two years apart from criticising KCR and the BRS. Moreover, he argued that loud celebrations or aggressive speeches cannot hide the administration’s failures.

The former minister said people still remember the welfare delivered under the BRS. He accused the Chief Minister of spreading false claims about ration cards. Furthermore, he cited the sanction of 6,47,479 cards as proof. The BRS, he added, raised rice entitlement from four to six kilograms and ensured supply to all eligible members. Consequently, he urged the Chief Minister to stop distorting facts.

Harish Rao questions CM’s claims on SLBC, irrigation and governance

Harish Rao asked why the Chief Minister ignores the progress made on SLBC. He pointed out that the BRS spent ₹3,892 crore and completed 11.48 kilometres of tunnel works. The handling of the SLBC tragedy, he said, exposed serious administrative lapses. Unsafe decisions, according to him, cost eight lives. He also noted that the state has still not retrieved the bodies trapped inside the tunnel.

Irrigation performance also came under his criticism. Rao said not a single new acre received water in two years. Additionally, he alleged that the state could not prevent illegal diversion of Krishna water to Andhra Pradesh. He claimed officials prepared DPRs for illegal projects without objection from the Chief Minister. Poor coordination, he added, is evident in Siddipet, where local leaders remain unsure about the in-charge minister’s visit.

The former minister criticised the Chief Minister’s interest in football and said governance demands far greater attention. Public hardship, he noted, grows while the administration shows little urgency. According to him, people now recognise failures across sectors. Moreover, he alleged that the ruling leadership focuses on commissions, shares and land deals.

Questions were also raised about the Telangana Rising Global Summit. Rao asked who planned what he described as a new scam and who would benefit from it. False claims or colourful presentations, he said, cannot lead to development. He urged the Chief Minister to shed arrogance, leave illusions behind and focus on governance. The public, he added, expects responsibility and seriousness from those in power.
