HYDERABAD: Telangana minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy launched a strong counterattack against Finance Minister Harish Rao in the state Assembly, describing his statements regarding land issues as a “joke.” During the Assembly session, Komatireddy accused the previous BRS-led government of mishandling land records and failing to address the concerns of farmers.
In response to Harish Rao’s claims, Komatireddy asserted that the previous government’s land reforms were poorly implemented, causing confusion and injustice to farmers. He highlighted that several irregularities in land distribution and documentation occurred under the previous administration.
Komatireddy also alleged that many farmers were denied proper land rights due to the government’s negligence. He blamed the previous regime for creating complex land records, making it difficult for farmers to access their rightful property.
Slamming Harish Rao’s remarks, Komatireddy stated that the current government was committed to resolving land issues with transparency and efficiency. He emphasized that the Congress-led government was working towards rectifying the errors of the past and ensuring that farmers receive their due rights.
The debate in the Assembly turned intense as both ministers exchanged sharp words. The opposition supported Harish Rao, while the ruling party members backed Komatireddy’s criticism.
The heated exchange highlighted the ongoing political tension in Telangana, with both sides blaming each other for the state’s land-related issues. The incident also brought the focus back on farmers’ grievances, making it a key point of discussion in the Assembly.
