Harish Rao slams power cuts, cites hospital crisis

Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao has come down heavily on the Congress government over continued power outages across Telangana, slamming it for endangering patient care in public hospitals.

Sharing a shocking video of Zaheerabad Area Hospital on X, Harish Rao said over 300 patients were being treated in near-darkness due to a power cut and a defunct generator. He said doctors were forced to continue treatment using mobile phone torchlights, a situation he described as “deplorable and inhuman.”

“If this is the condition at a key government hospital in Zaheerabad, what must rural hospitals be going through?” he asked, questioning the administration’s priorities.

Rao accused the state government of administrative paralysis for over a year and a half, claiming that essential services were collapsing. “Healthcare access for the poor is vanishing. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy should stop showboating and start providing basic facilities,” he said.
