Hyderabad: BRS deputy floor leader T. Harish Rao demanded immediate action on licensed surveyors grievances across Telangana.
A delegation of licensed surveyors met Harish Rao at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday. They explained their long-pending concerns and sought his support for resolving the issues.
Harish Rao expressed solidarity with the surveyors. He urged the Telangana government to hold discussions with nearly 6,000 licensed surveyors across the state.
The BRS leader also criticised alleged remarks by IAS officer Lokesh Kumar about qualified young professionals. He said officials should not make irresponsible comments about educated youth seeking solutions to genuine problems.
Harish Rao further criticised the alleged conduct of Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy during a surveyors’ protest. He accused the government of displaying an insensitive attitude towards the protesters.
According to Harish Rao, the surveyors include professionals with B.Tech, M.Tech and Civil Engineering qualifications. He said their concerns deserved a serious response from the government.
He also warned the Chief Minister and Revenue Minister against underestimating the collective strength of the surveyors. Harish Rao said their grievances affected not only the professionals but also thousands of dependent families.
Licensed surveyors grievances prompt call for government talks
Harish Rao urged the government to invite the surveyors for immediate discussions. He said authorities should resolve their concerns before the situation escalates further.
The BRS leader said nearly 6,000 licensed surveyors represent an equal number of families dependent on their livelihoods. Therefore, he urged the government to consider the wider impact of leaving their issues unresolved.
Harish Rao also asked the Chief Minister and Revenue Minister to engage directly with the surveyors. He said dialogue could help address the long-pending concerns and prevent further confrontation.
The delegation’s meeting with Harish Rao came amid continuing demands for action on the surveyors’ problems. The BRS leader assured them of his support and called for an immediate government response.
