Harish Rao defends KCR, calls Kaleshwaram inquiry a Congress conspiracy

Hyderabad: BRS leader T. Harish Rao came out swinging on Wednesday, defending K. Chandrashekar Rao against what he called a “Congress conspiracy” amid the high-stakes Kaleshwaram inquiry.

In a strongly worded post on X, Harish Rao praised the former chief minister’s decades-long public service, saying KCR’s legacy cannot be erased by any commission or political vendetta. “From achieving statehood to launching transformational projects like Kaleshwaram, KCR has always put Telangana first,” he declared, taking a swipe at the Congress and its alleged motives.

Referring to the ongoing judicial probe into irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, Harish Rao dismissed it as politically motivated. “No Congress conspiracy or inquiry can diminish the sacrifices KCR made for this state,” he insisted, describing KCR’s role in Telangana’s formation and development as “unmatched.”

He ended his post with a rousing slogan, “Jai Telangana! Jai KCR!”, striking a defiant note as the commission’s cross-examination of KCR marked an unprecedented moment in the state’s political history.

KCR’s appearance before the Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose Commission has rattled political circles, with the investigation focusing on alleged lapses in the multi-crore irrigation project a key initiative during his tenure.
