Hyderabad, January 6: Former minister and MLA Harish Rao criticised the Congress government for failing to deliver on governance and development during its first year in office.
Speaking at a press conference at the Siddipet camp office, he alleged that the Congress administration had focused only on cutting schemes and diverting funds meant for people and farmers.
Harish Rao accused the Congress of halting several welfare initiatives introduced by the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government. He claimed that the six guarantees promised during elections have been abandoned and described the past year as a period of stagnation for Siddipet constituency.
“Siddipet, which saw remarkable progress under the BRS government over a decade, has been reduced to a barren landscape in just one year,” Rao stated. He expressed disappointment over halted projects and criticised the Congress for cancelling or suspending works sanctioned during the previous regime.
He demanded that Congress leaders explain what they have achieved for Siddipet in the past year and clarify their stance on the cancelled projects. Harish Rao alleged that the Congress’ actions were driven by political vendetta rather than a focus on development.
During the event, Harish Rao also unveiled calendars from various organisations and extended condolences to families who recently lost loved ones in the constituency.
Harish Rao called on the Congress government to prioritise governance and fulfil its promises, stating that the people of Telangana deserve better.
