Harish Rao condemns ‘politically motivated’ action against KTR, alleges Congress misuse of power

Hyderabad: BRS senior leader T. Harish Rao strongly criticised the government’s decision related to the action against KTR, calling it a politically motivated move aimed at silencing opposition. He posted a detailed statement on X, accusing Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of misusing authority to suppress dissent within the state. Moreover, he said the decision reflected an attempt to intimidate leaders who continued to question government performance.

Harish Rao stated that the BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao faced illegal cases solely because he exposed administrative failures. He alleged that the ruling Congress government pursued personal vendetta rather than focusing on public issues. Additionally, he argued that the timing of the action linked directly to the upcoming local body elections.

Action against KTR draws sharp criticism from Harish Rao

The action against KTR came under further scrutiny as Harish Rao accused the government of twisting the Formula E race issue for political gain. He said the event was conducted with transparency and benefitted Hyderabad’s global brand image. According to him, the administration spent two years trying to create controversy where none existed.

He claimed that the current government intended to harass KTR through fabricated charges. Furthermore, he described the move as an attempt to derive political mileage and divert public attention from governance challenges.

Action against KTR linked to political motives, says BRS

The action against KTR also prompted Harish Rao to warn that such tactics would not weaken BRS leaders. He stated that the party would continue to function with unity and resilience. He added that BRS would support KTR fully and challenge the government’s approach through legal means.

Harish Rao said voters recognised attempts to influence the political environment ahead of elections. Moreover, he asserted that the party remained confident that the public would see through these strategies and respond accordingly.
