Hyderabad: Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukender Reddy inspected the reconstruction works of the Legislative Council building in the Assembly premises.
He carried out the inspection on Tuesday following directions issued by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. According to officials, the government plans to inaugurate the new Council Hall soon.
Meanwhile, the Chairman held a review meeting with Legislative Council Secretary Narasimha Charyulu. Officials from R&B, the Aga Khan organisation, and other departments also attended.
During the meeting, Gutta Sukender Reddy said the government intended to hold the upcoming Budget session in the Council building located next to the Assembly.
Legislative Council building set to host Budget session
He said the Chief Minister had asked officials to organise the inauguration of the Council Hall at the earliest. Moreover, the Chief Minister had recently reviewed the completed works and sought updates on pending tasks.
Accordingly, the Chairman said the government decided to conduct the Legislative Council Budget session within the Assembly campus building itself.
Therefore, he directed officials to avoid delays and increase the pace of work. He also asked them to complete the project quickly and hand it over to Council authorities.
Finally, Gutta Sukender Reddy warned contractors against any delay. He said the government would cancel contracts if work did not progress on schedule.
