Hyderabad: Former MP Madhu Yashki Goud met ministers and senior officials over the long-pending registration problems affecting residents of GO 118 colonies in LB Nagar. He sought a permanent solution that would provide property owners with full ownership rights without legal complications.
Madhu Yashki thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy for announcing steps in the Assembly to address the registration issue. He said the government’s decision had brought encouraging news to thousands of affected residents.
At the invitation of Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Madhu Yashki met the minister in his Assembly chamber. Former corporator Ragula Venkateshwar Reddy and BN Reddy Nagar division president Parvathi Ganesh Reddy accompanied him.
Representatives of the colonies affected by GO 118 also participated in the meeting. They explained the problems that residents have faced for several years over property registrations.
A separate discussion was held with senior officials in the minister’s chamber. CCLA Lokesh Kumar, Ranga Reddy District Collector Narayana Reddy and Stamps and Registrations Special Secretary Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu participated.
Madhu Yashki and the colony representatives sought a permanent solution to the registration dispute. They also explained the difficulties residents faced because of the deeds of convenience issued under GO 118.
They urged the government to move away from the existing GO 118 framework. They sought measures to remove the properties from Section 22A without creating further legal complications.
Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy responded by issuing directions to the high-power committee representatives, according to Madhu Yashki. The minister asked officials to consider the suggestions and expectations of affected residents while preparing orders to resolve the registration issue.
The delegation also met district in-charge Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu. They presented their views on how the registration problems should be addressed.
GO 118 registrations discussed for 44 colonies
Madhu Yashki alleged that the previous BRS government introduced GO 118 ahead of the Munugode by-election for political benefit. He claimed the order contained flaws and failed to resolve residents’ problems.
He also alleged that owners who had purchased plots in HUDA layouts were treated as land encroachers under the order. In addition, he accused the previous government of burdening residents with double taxation.
Madhu Yashki said these concerns were explained to the ministers during the meetings. He added that Revanth Reddy had been aware of the GO 118 issue since his tenure as an MP.
According to Madhu Yashki, the Chief Minister and Revenue Minister are working on a solution independent of GO 118. He said the proposed approach would provide fresh ownership documents and permanently address the problem.
He said residents of 44 affected colonies are expected to benefit from the government’s proposed action. Madhu Yashki thanked Revanth Reddy and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on behalf of residents of the constituency.
Madhu Yashki also announced a meeting with representatives and residents of the affected colonies in LB Nagar on Saturday at 3 PM. The programme will focus on the proposed resolution of the registration issue.
He said Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Duddilla Sridhar Babu will attend the meeting and interact with residents. According to Madhu Yashki, the ministers will also distribute new ownership documents to people from the affected colonies.
