Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan conducted a morning sanitation drive from Indira Park in Gandhi Nagar to Secunderabad Railway Station, reviewing field-level cleanliness and waste management operations.
He was accompanied by Zonal Commissioner Ravi Kiran during the inspection. The team covered Surabhi Park, P&T Colony, Gandhi Nagar Division and Kavadiguda as part of the sanitation drive.
Officials assessed on-ground sanitation, garbage lifting efficiency and staff deployment along the corridor. The Commissioner examined Swachh Auto attendance and checked route compliance during the drive.
Sanitation drive reviews garbage collection and supervision
R.V. Karnan verified daily door-to-door garbage collection and directed officials to ensure 100 per cent coverage. He instructed Deputy Commissioners, Solid Waste Management DEEs and AEs to intensify supervision.
The Commissioner ordered strict action against missed routes and irregular garbage collection. He stressed the need to maintain clean public places, roads and key junctions at all times.
During the sanitation drive, he interacted with local residents and shopkeepers and listened to their concerns on collection timings and service gaps. He directed officials to resolve complaints without delay.
Shopkeepers were advised to segregate waste properly and hand over garbage only during designated collection hours. The Commissioner reiterated that streets, public spaces and major junctions must remain neat and well maintained.
