Ganja smuggler arrested at Secunderabad station with ₹2 lakh contraband

Hyderabad: Secunderabad Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Monday arrested a habitual NDPS offender at Secunderabad Railway Station and seized 4.104 kg of ganja worth ₹2,05,200.

The accused, 21-year-old Shaik Waheed, a bike mechanic from Shanti Nagar in Lalapet, was caught near Gate No.2 on Platform No.1 during a surprise anti-drug operation. He had transported the contraband from Nagpur by train and planned to sell it in Hyderabad.

Waheed had previously served jail time for ganja-related offences registered at Lalaguda and Tukaramgate police stations. Despite his release, he resumed sourcing ganja from Nagpur at lower prices and repackaged it for sale in small sachets locally.
