Karimnagar: Gangadhara sub-registrar suspended over illegal land registrations

Hyderabad: Karimnagar district authorities suspended Gangadhara sub-registrar Noor Aftab Khan after uncovering large-scale illegal land registrations, including government and ceiling lands.

Officials found that Khan authorized nine unlawful registrations in survey number 272/14 of Kothapalli village, and 476 additional illegal entries on ceiling lands in survey numbers 175, 197, and 198 violating land laws and departmental protocols.

The probe was initiated following a complaint to the Lokayukta by late Lok Satta leader Naredla Srinivas. Based on the complaint, Karimnagar District Collector Pamela Satpathy cancelled the registrations in May. Further investigations were carried out at sub-registrar offices in Gangadhara, Thimmapur, Karimnagar, and Huzurabad.

On orders from the Inspector General of the Registration and Stamps Department, disciplinary action was taken against Khan. His suspension was formally issued by DIG M. Ravinder.

Senior Assistant P. Sadashiva Ramakrishna has been appointed as the new sub-registrar for Gangadhara in Khan’s place.
