Hyderabad: Oil Marketing Companies on Monday said Fuel LPG supply across Telangana remained stable and sufficient to meet the current demand, rejecting rumours of shortages in the state.
The state-level coordinator for OMCs said public sector oil companies were closely monitoring the situation. Officials also said steps were being taken to streamline logistics and speed up deliveries across Telangana.
During the first fortnight of May, petrol supplies in the state increased by 14.2 per cent. Similarly, diesel supplies rose by 15.7 per cent during the same period.
OMCs said domestic LPG bookings had declined because of the summer season. However, officials clarified that consumers had not resorted to panic booking of cylinders.
So far this month, 20.06 lakh domestic LPG cylinders were delivered across Telangana. Officials described the supply pattern as normal for the season.
Fuel LPG supply backed by DAC compliance drive
OMCs encouraged consumers to book LPG cylinders through SMS, missed calls, IVRS and online platforms. In addition, they appealed to customers to support the “Delivery Authentication Code” system.
The DAC system uses OTP-based verification for cylinder delivery. According to officials, the mechanism was introduced to prevent diversion and ensure delivery to genuine beneficiaries.
Telangana achieved more than 95 per cent DAC compliance, while efforts were continuing to reach full implementation across the state.
OMCs also urged the public to depend only on authentic information sources. They asked consumers not to spread or believe rumours and fake news related to fuel and LPG availability.
