Former Vijaya Dairy chairman Mandava Janakiramaiah dies at 93

Hyderabad: Former Vijaya Dairy chairman and dairy farmers’ welfare leader Mandava Janakiramaiah died on Thursday at the age of 93. He had been suffering from ill health for some time and breathed his last at Rushi Vatika Old Age Home near Gannavaram.

His contributions to the dairy industry, especially to Vijaya Dairy, remain unforgettable.

Mandava Janakiramaiah dies after decades of service to dairy farmers

Janakiramaiah served Vijaya Dairy for about 27 years as its chairman. During his long tenure, he worked tirelessly for the welfare of dairy farmers. Moreover, he introduced reforms to ensure fair milk procurement and better prices for farmers, earning their deep respect and trust.

Under his leadership, Vijaya Dairy grew steadily and became one of the most reliable dairy cooperatives in the region.

He leaves behind one son and two daughters. Family members said they will perform his final rites this evening in his native village, Movva.

Meanwhile, political and cooperative leaders mourned his death. They remembered him as a visionary who devoted his life to the growth of the dairy sector and to empowering rural farmers.
