Hyderabad: Nagarkurnool police arrested five youths for consuming ganja on the outskirts of Telakapalli village. They were later remanded to judicial custody.
Nagarkurnool DSP Burri Srinivasulu told reporters on Friday that a local tip-off led police to the arrest site. Telakapalli Sub-Inspector Naresh and his team found the youths using ganja under a tree in a private venture area.
The accused were identified as Gumpala Ganesh (19) from Nagarkurnool town, Mupparapu Akhil (19), Juvenali Boy, Rasala Naresh (22), and Guggilla Charan (23). During questioning, they admitted to buying the substance from dealers in the district.
Police recovered 138 grams of ganja, three mobile phones, and a scooter from them. DSP Srinivasulu warned that youth involved in drug use would face strict legal action.
Nagarkurnool CI Ashok Reddy joined SI Naresh in the operation.
