Eight drug peddlers arrested in major SOT Madhapur crackdown

Hyderabad: Eight drug peddlers were arrested in the SOT Madhapur crackdown, which covered Narsingi, Chandanagar and Kollur. The special drive focused on active peddlers moving heroin, MDMA and ganja through western Hyderabad.

Police teams caught two men in Narsingi while they attempted to sell 4.5 grams of heroin. In Chandanagar, officers stopped a group on a bus near Gopinagar and found drugs with them. Soon after, SOT Madhapur detained three members of that group and seized 15 grams of MDMA along with three mobile phones.

Investigators said the group brought drugs from Bengaluru. They aimed to push the material into Hyderabad before New Year events. Because of that plan, enforcement teams moved quickly and took all three into custody. Chandanagar Police registered a case and began the investigation.

In a separate action, Kollur Police seized 42 kilograms of ganja and arrested two suspects. Officers said the operation formed part of a broader plan to disrupt narcotics movement during the festive period and tighten local enforcement.
