Eatala lays foundation for ₹87 crore rail infrastructure projects in Malkajgiri

Hyderabad: Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for two major railway infrastructure projects worth ₹87.28 crore at Neredmet Railway Station. Notably, these initiatives mark important progress for Eatala foundation rail projects in the city. The works include a Road Under Bridge (RUB) at Vajpayee Nagar. They also include a Limited Height Subway (LHS) near Safilguda Railway Station.

The ceremony was attended by Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajashekar Reddy, along with senior officials from South Central Railway (SCR). These included Dr R. Gopalakrishnan, Divisional Railway Manager (Secunderabad), and K. Mutyala Naidu, Additional DRM (Infra).

Long-pending rail works set to ease road congestion

Eatala said these RUB and LHS ventures, part of the foundation rail projects by Eatala and the government, fulfill long-standing demands of residents and are fully funded by the Railways. Moreover, he highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening rail infrastructure in Telangana. He cited initiatives such as new RUBs, ROBs, express train stoppages, and enhanced safety measures.

MLA Rajashekar Reddy said the RUB at LC No. BP-8 in Vajpayee Nagar will cost ₹74.47 crore, while the LHS at Safilguda is being developed at ₹12.81 crore. Furthermore, he stressed that these Eatala foundation rail projects will significantly benefit local commuters. They will do so by eliminating waiting times at level crossings and improving safety.

DRM Gopalakrishnan, in his opening remarks, noted that these two rail projects initiated by the Eatala foundation are expected to ease road congestion. In addition, they will enhance safety and save valuable commuting time for the city’s residents.
