Dubbaka MLA seeks immediate allotment of completed 2BHK houses

Hyderabad: Dubbaka MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy urged the Telangana government to immediately allot completed 2BHK houses to eligible beneficiaries in the constituency. He raised the issue during a review meeting chaired by Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy at the Housing Development Corporation office in Himayatnagar on Thursday.

Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, MLAs, MPs, MLCs, collectors, RDOs, and housing officials from the undivided Medak district attended the meeting. Meanwhile, the Dubbaka MLA highlighted pending housing issues related to the constituency.

Kotha Prabhakar Reddy said construction of double-bedroom houses in seven mandals had already been completed. He added that some beneficiaries had been living in the houses for the past two to two-and-a-half years.

The MLA said more than 1,000 houses had been completed in Toguta mandal, Doultabad, Dubbaka, and Akbarpet areas. Therefore, he urged officials to identify eligible beneficiaries and distribute certificates immediately.

Dubbaka 2BHK houses face delays in allotment

Kotha Prabhakar Reddy said several houses had started deteriorating because authorities delayed allotment for a long time. He also pointed out that some houses suffered damage due to lack of maintenance.

The MLA sought a detailed review on contractors, pending works, bill payments, and construction status in all locations. He said some areas still lacked doors, windows, roads, and other infrastructure facilities.

He stated that nearly 400 to 500 houses remained vacant without allotment in Dubbaka municipality limits. In addition, he urged officials to prepare a full report explaining pending works and problems in each housing unit.

Kotha Prabhakar Reddy requested the housing minister to visit the constituency and distribute certificates to beneficiaries directly. He said such a move would improve public confidence.

The MLA also sought a separate review meeting with the district collector on pending housing issues in Dubbaka constituency and Medak district.

He said authorities earlier issued sanction letters for 1,081 houses in seven mandals. However, officials approved only 610 houses, while 471 remained pending. He also said construction had not started for another 262 houses.

The MLA urged officials to complete pending works quickly after conducting a comprehensive review under the Siddipet district administration. He also requested the government to allot 200 additional Indiramma houses to Dubbaka constituency under the second phase.

Kotha Prabhakar Reddy further requested sanction of Tahsildar office buildings for the newly formed Rayapole, Akbarpet-Bhoompalli, and Narsingi mandals. He later said Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy responded positively to the request.
