Hyderabad: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Hyderabad District Election Officer RV Karnan on Monday launched a drone surveillance project for the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election. The system was introduced at Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy Stadium in Yousufguda.
Drones to enhance monitoring at polling stations
Officials will deploy 139 drones to provide live surveillance at 407 polling stations in the constituency. The initiative aims to improve security, monitor polling-day activity in real time, and ensure transparency in the election process.
RV Karnan said the drone network would help safeguard polling stations and support a fair and accountable election. Joint Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal, along with senior election staff and media personnel, attended the launch event.
