DM&HO directs better healthcare services at Basti Dawakhanas

Hyderabad: Ranga Reddy District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO) Dr. Swarna Kumari on Friday directed officials to improve Basti Dawakhana services during surprise inspections of the Panduranga Nagar and Budwel Basti Dawakhanas.

During the inspections, she reviewed outpatient services, the availability of medicines, laboratory facilities, patient registration, healthcare services for pregnant women and children, immunisation, staff attendance, sanitation and biomedical waste management.

Dr. Swarna Kumari instructed the medical staff to provide quality and timely treatment to patients. She also directed them to ensure that essential medicines remained available at all times and that every patient was treated with courtesy and care.

She asked healthcare personnel to remain on high alert for seasonal diseases during the monsoon. She instructed them to promptly identify patients showing symptoms of fever, dengue and malaria and provide the required treatment without delay.

The DM&HO also stressed the need to maintain clean surroundings in all Basti Dawakhanas and effectively implement government health programmes to improve public healthcare delivery.

She directed officials to strengthen preventive healthcare measures and ensure uninterrupted medical services for residents visiting the urban health centres.

Concerned medical officers and healthcare staff were present during the inspections.
