DG Prisons hosts farewell for retiring jail staff

Hyderabad: The Directorate General of Prisons and Correctional Services hosted a retirement felicitation on February 26 to honour two jail officials set to retire on February 28 upon attaining superannuation.

The department bid farewell to Sri Sattu Parusharamulu, Deputy Jailor, PAC Cherlapalli, and Sri Voggu Mohan Das, Head Warder, Central Prison Hyderabad, during a programme held at the DG office. The event marked the end of their long service in the department.

Retirement felicitation attended by senior officials

Dr. Soumya Mishra, IPS, Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services, attended the retirement felicitation. Along with her, senior officers participated in the ceremony. Among them were IG Prisons Sri Y Rajesh, DIG (Hyderabad Range) Dr. D. Srinivas and DIG (Warangal Range) Sri M. Sampath. In addition, Administrative Officer Mohd. Yousuf and OSD to DG Prisons Sri K. Sreeman Reddy joined the event.

Staff members and family members of the retirees also attended. Their presence, in turn, added warmth to the farewell.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Soumya Mishra commended the officials for their dedicated and unblemished service. She also acknowledged their sincerity and commitment to duty over the years.

As a mark of appreciation, the department presented cheques from the Welfare Fund, which accumulated through monthly salary contributions. Subsequently, the retiring officials expressed gratitude for the honour.

Meanwhile, their family members thanked the department for the recognition accorded to them. Finally, the programme concluded with appreciation for the officers’ years of committed service.
