Hyderabad: In a move to make policing more accessible, the Cyberabad Commissionerate on Thursday launched a doorstep FIR registration service in the Balanagar police station limits.
As part of the initiative, police teams visited complainants’ residences to register cases and hand over FIR copies on the spot.
Balanagar SHO Narasimha Raju, along with SIs Saritha Patel Reddy and Vinod, visited Hanuman Devalayam, Patwari Enclave, and Kamakshi Enclave apartments to take down complaints on the spot. Residents welcomed the move, saying it would save time and make it easier to approach the police.
Building trust through doorstep policing
Police officials said the initiative aimed to build greater public trust and ensure faster grievance redressal. “We are going to victims’ homes to take complaints and provide them with FIR copies,” officers said, adding that the service was part of efforts to deliver better public service in the commissionerate limits.
