Cyberabad AHTU raids strengthen human trafficking vigilance during special drive

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Anti Human Trafficking Unit stepped up human trafficking vigilance during a week-long special drive. Officers held night raids and rescued 10 victims. They also arrested five accused in three PITA cases. In addition, they detained five sex workers and two trans people for counselling and rehabilitation.

SHE teams carried out 128 decoy operations across Cyberabad. During these checks, they caught 79 people in indecent acts at public places. Some faced petty cases, while others received counselling. The teams also handled 18 complaints from women and helped reunite 30 couples through Family Counselling Centres.

Awareness push grows under human trafficking vigilance drive

AHTU and SHE teams conducted several awareness sessions on human trafficking, cyber safety, child rights, stalking, child labour and cyber frauds. They also explained emergency helplines. These sessions reached 286 people and focused on early reporting and safe behaviour.

Under the Suraksha Kavach programme, the Cyberabad Women and Children Safety Wing and SCSC held a safety session for 230 Grade 3 students at CHIREC School. The session, titled “Being Good, Being Safe,” used simple activities to teach children about personal safety and trust. Officers also explained the friendly role of police.
