Hyderabad: BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha is scheduled to attend the Legislative Council today and seek acceptance of her resignation during the proceedings, sources said.
Kavitha earlier met Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy and requested an opportunity to speak in the House. Sources said the Chairman may allow her to address the Council during Monday’s session.
She resigned from her MLC post on September 3 last year after securing the seat under the BRS quota. However, the Chairman has not yet conveyed approval of her resignation, officials said.
Kavitha to seek resignation acceptance in the Legislative Council
During her address, Kavitha plans to formally urge the House to accept her resignation. She intends to place her request on record during the Council proceedings today.
The delay has drawn attention, as several months have passed since she submitted her resignation. Political circles are closely watching whether the Chairman will decide on her request in the House.
