Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Dasym Vinay Bhaskar on Wednesday said vendetta politics had become routine under the Congress government in Telangana. He alleged that the government was targeting critics through false cases to suppress dissent.
Speaking to the media, Vinay Bhaskar said the government booked illegal cases against those who questioned its decisions. He claimed journalists were also facing harassment through such cases.
Vinay Bhaskar accused Congress leaders of spreading false propaganda against BRS leaders on social media. He questioned why the government was not taking action against those indulging in misinformation.
Vinay Bhaskar said people were openly questioning the Congress government over its six guarantees. However, he alleged that the government was resorting to diversionary politics to evade accountability.
He further alleged that the government floated new issues like district merger proposals amid protests by unemployed youth. He said the move aimed to divert attention from unemployment and governance failures.
The BRS leader said former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao worked consistently for public welfare. He said KCR upgraded tribal hamlets into gram panchayats, calling it a major achievement.
Vinay Bhaskar said the Bharat Rashtra Samithi would continue to question the Congress government on public issues.
