Congress to support Eswara Chari family, says TPCC chief Mahesh Goud

Hyderabad: TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud on Friday said the Congress would extend full support to the family of Eswara Chari, who died by suicide. He appealed to the public not to take extreme steps in moments of distress.

Mahesh Goud, along with BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, handed over a Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia cheque announced by the State government to Chari’s family. He said the party would stand by the family “in every possible way” during the difficult period.

Speaking on the occasion, the TPCC chief described Eswara Chari’s death as deeply unfortunate. He urged people, especially youth, to seek help instead of resorting to suicide. “Suicide is not a solution to any problem,” he said, calling for collective responsibility in supporting those under stress.

Mahesh Goud said the Congress party and the Revanth Reddy-led government remained committed to securing BC reservations as promised. He stated that the government was making every possible effort to fulfil its assurance. Furthermore, he asked the BC community not to lose confidence.

He also urged members of the community to stand with the Congress in its ongoing struggle for BC reservations. He emphasized that sustained public support was essential to achieve the objective.

BC Commission Chairman G. Niranjan, TPCC Samvidhan Bachao Committee chairman Dr. Vinay, corporation chairmen Eeravatri Anil, Nuthi Srikanth and Mettu Sai, BC Association leader Ganesh Chari, and several party leaders attended the programme.
