HYDERABAD: A significant decision was taken during the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting held at Novotel Hotel in Hyderabad, where it was resolved that each Congress MLA would contribute ₹25,000 from their monthly salary towards party development.
During the meeting, MLAs were also advised to stay connected with the public and extensively tour villages to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence. Leaders were strictly instructed not to speak out of line or attempt to blackmail the party. The party, they were told, was not in a position to be intimidated.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, addressing the gathering, urged all MLAs to exercise patience, citing Addanki Dayakar as an example, stating that it was his patience that eventually earned him an MLC position.
On the issue of cabinet expansion, Revanth Reddy reiterated that the matter rested entirely with the party high command. He warned MLAs not to make public statements about it, calling it a “sweet warning”.
The meeting focused on four key issues: land records under the Bhu Bharati initiative, distribution of fine rice, Indiramma housing scheme, and SC categorisation. The discussion centred on how to effectively communicate these and other welfare and development schemes to the public.
MLAs’ feedback and suggestions were taken into account during the session. Following the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy is scheduled to depart on an official visit to Japan.
