Congress looted ₹170 crore in textile park tenders, alleges KTR

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday accused the Congress government of looting ₹170 crore through tender manipulation at Kakatiya Textile Park. Speaking at an event in Parakala, Warangal district, KTR said the ruling party had turned governance into a commission-seeking operation.

Participating in the ‘Gift a Smile’ program hosted by the Pochampally Foundation, where sewing machines were distributed to women, KTR claimed that tenders for the textile park were a front to siphon off public funds. He announced plans to raise the issue in the Assembly.

KTR also attacked the Congress for neglecting the housing demand under the Grihalakshmi scheme. “3,000 houses were sanctioned for Parakala women, but the Congress government has refused to change the scheme’s name and process the benefits,” he said, vowing to continue the fight until beneficiaries are served.

He accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of misleading the public with the so-called six guarantees and cheating women by failing to deliver promised pensions. “Revanth owes ₹50,000 to each woman in Telangana,” KTR alleged. He also slammed the delay in releasing ₹15,000 per acre under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, calling it an election stunt.

KTR urged voters to punish the Congress in upcoming local body polls and said there was no need to fear its leaders. He questioned whether such fertilizer shortages were ever seen under BRS rule, noting that he witnessed farmers queued for urea during his visit.

He criticised the Congress government for its failure to ensure timely supply of agricultural inputs. “If the right choices are made in the local elections, the correct schemes will follow,” he said, appealing for support to BRS candidates.
