Hyderabad: Revenue, Housing, and Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said development was possible only under the Congress government, which aimed to deliver welfare schemes to every poor family.
The Minister addressed voters during a roadshow across several divisions of the Kothagudem Municipal Corporation on Thursday. The programme formed part of the ongoing municipal election campaign. He cautioned voters against trusting candidates contesting as independents while claiming closeness to senior leaders for political gain.
Ponguleti warned party workers and voters to stay alert against what he called misleading elements. He said such individuals projected themselves as insiders only to exploit the political situation in Telangana.

Targeting the opposition, the Minister questioned the purpose of voting for parties without power. He said only a government in office could bring development and mobilise funds. He asked how parties without authority could serve public interests.
Referring to his portfolios, Ponguleti said the Housing and Revenue departments functioned under his charge. He stated that the Congress government held the authority to sanction houses and house sites. From April, another phase of Indiramma housing sanctions will begin, he said. The Minister assured justice to all eligible beneficiaries.
Calling for disciplined effort, the Minister urged party workers to act with the determination of soldiers. He asked them to work for the victory of Congress–CPI(M) alliance candidates. He also appealed to voters to defeat independents backed by deceptive forces in the elections scheduled on the 11th and ensure a Congress victory in Kothagudem.
