Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Friday handed over Group-3 appointment letters at Shilpakala Vedika and launched a scathing attack on the previous BRS government for its failure to address youth employment.
Addressing newly appointed candidates, the Chief Minister said that job aspirants had high hopes after fighting for statehood, but were let down. “Until 2014, no job recruitment took place. Young people brought us to power believing only if the BRS government is removed will jobs come,” he said.
He accused the BRS regime of serving its own political and family interests while ignoring unemployed youth. Revanth Reddy also pointed out that no Group-1 exams were held for 14 years. He condemned the failure to conduct competitive exams and criticized repeated paper leaks under the previous administration.
CM targets PSC lapses, promises clean governance
“The Public Service Commission lost its credibility due to their actions. Even when we tried to issue Group-1 appointment letters, they moved court to sabotage the process,” the Chief Minister alleged.
Revanth Reddy said the Congress-led government had distributed 60,000 appointment letters in its first year in office. He emphasized that a government job is not merely about salary but carries deep emotional significance.
Skill-based education key to future: CM Revanth
The CM also spoke about systemic issues in education. He questioned why public trust in government schools had declined despite offering free education. “We are producing lakhs of engineering graduates, but many remain jobless due to lack of skills,” he said.
He called for a renewed focus on skill development to meet job market demands. “Once we gave land to overcome poverty; now we have no land to give, but we can provide skill-based education,” he noted.
Revanth stressed that education alone could eradicate poverty and confer true respect. He urged youth to understand that dignity does not come from caste, money, or power, but from knowledge. Reaffirming his government’s long-term vision, he reiterated the goal to make Telangana a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
