Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has formally appealed to Andhra Pradesh not to block several vital Telangana irrigation projects, including Palamuru–Rangareddy, Dindi, Kalwakurthy, Bhima, Koilsagar, and Nettampadu. He warned that if these efforts are thwarted, Telangana will wage a struggle to see them through, stating, “I will take leadership responsibility.”
He recalled that during the unified state, Palamuru was adopted by former CM N. Chandrababu Naidu. “If both states indeed seek equal development, that ₹3 TMC daily lift irrigation project in Rayalaseema must go ahead,” the CM asserted.
On Friday, during a foundation‑stone ceremony for the Young India Residential School in Kollapur, Nagar Kurnool district, Revanth Reddy visited the Madanagopala Swamy temple and led public consultations alongside ministers and MLCs/MLAs at the “Praja Palana – Pragati Baata” public meeting.
In his address, he highlighted ongoing initiatives to enhance women’s welfare, expand employment, and facilitate job appointments. He warned Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu against obstructing Telangana’s projects, declaring that Telangana would pursue them regardless. He promised that land acquisition and compensation for six irrigation schemes would be finalised by December 9, with project completion slated within two years. He also vowed to source water from Tummidihatti to Vikarabad, Tandur, and Chevella.
Turning to employment, the CM said Telangana filled 60,000 jobs within the first year in office, and led the nation in completing SC sub‑caste categorisation per Supreme Court order. He pledged to fill 40,000 more jobs over the next 2½ years, aiming for a total of 100,000 new appointments. Investments worth nearly ₹3 lakh crore have also been secured, creating 100,000 private‑sector jobs.
He emphasised the state’s pioneering women’s welfare programmes rolled out in just 18 months, and outlined a goal to empower one crore Indian girls into future ‘crorepatis’ to reach a $1 trillion Telangana economy by 2035.
Responding to local development queries, he instructed ministers Damodar Rajanarsimha and Jupally Krishna Rao to act on the Kollapur MLA’s requests. He also distributed ₹344 crore in interest‑free loans to women’s associations, insurance plans, bank linkages, and food‑security ration cards to beneficiaries.
